• Welcome!

In 1856, after what may be called an extraordinary journey from Eastern Canada to Western Washington, Mother Joseph and several Sisters of Providence arrived in Vancouver and opened Providence Academy – the first Catholic school in our region. And thus began the story of Catholic education in the Archdiocese of Seattle.

Today, Catholic educators in the archdiocese serve almost 22,000 students from Pre-K to 12th grade in 73 rural, urban and suburban settings from Bellingham to Vancouver and from North Bend to Aberdeen. For more than 150 years, we have been inspiring students in academically excellent environments that provide a complete, nurturing, and values-centered education focused on helping children of all backgrounds realize their fullest potential as human beings.

Our schools are Catholic and our faith is central to what we do. We proudly teach the Gospel values as we share our faith throughout each day. We practice our faith in the spirit of Christian service, as an expression of our concern for the needs of others. Our scholastic programs vary from school to school, with every school focused on preparing students for success at the next level of study.

Working in partnership with parents, our faculty and administration are refined and professional educators, who motivate our students to do their best. We help them understand their talents, find meaning in their lives and build on their strengths to achieve success in school and beyond graduation. We provide them with the skills and inspire the self-discipline and confidence needed for them to take their places as compassionate leaders in their communities and in society.

Certainly, the Catholic school experience is an unparalleled opportunity for a child to develop her/his mind, heart and soul. In that light, I welcome you to our website and invite you to explore, discover, and share the good news of Western Washington’s Catholic Schools.
