    Join us as an Archdiocese for the largest Special Olympics USA Games Cheer Line in history!! Even if you have not registered online, you are welcome to come join the Cheer Line on Sunday, July 1st! The goal is to help fill the line and for us to self-organize following the guidelines below. There will be leads on site to assist you in identifying your spot on the line and to make sure that there is NO SECTION UNATTENDED!

    What will the day look like?

    • 8:30 am Group Cheer Captains arrive early – in front of Husky Stadium or at our section of the line.
    • 9:00am arrive to our section in the cheer line (see map) SEATTLE ARCHDIOCESE is FIRST on LINE #2! (Sections A-B by the dorms! MCMAHON HALL to be exact!)
    • 9:30am-11am Cheer line parade of athletes begins! (We are at the beginning of the Parade of Athletes!)
    • 11:00am gates open at Husky Stadium for the Opening Ceremony(ticketing information below)*
    • 12:30pm Opening Ceremony Begins
    • 2:30pm Opening Ceremony concludes

    How do I get there?

    • Light rail is best option for a stress free and close drop off
    • Please consult Sound Transit and King County Metro transit schedules for route schedules and pricing. (www.soundtransit.org) (https://kingcounty.gov/depts/transpo...ules-maps.aspx)
    • Limebikes will be available in key locations throughout campus and free codes will be available to ride to your spot on the line. You can always walk and should not find yourself walking more than a mile from any parking or public transit location.

    Where should I park?

    • Parking available in Lot E18 at Husky Stadium for $6 all day
    • You can also choose to park in the underground lots (i.e. the Central Plaza Garage on 15th and 41st ) or other surface lots on the University of Washington campus.
    • Paid parking is available at the University of Washington $10 all day in the Husky Football Parking Lots.
    • On the day of the Opening Ceremony (Sunday, July 1) free parking will be available in the E12 for all volunteers working during the Opening Ceremony and showing their credential. One vehicle per credential. This parking does not include the Opening Ceremony Cheer line.

    What should I wear?

    • Dress for the weather, this is a rain or shine event
    • Seattle Archdiocese is wearing our SCHOOL OR PARISH GEAR!! Or wear red, white, or blue. You do not need to wear Volunteer shirts or uniforms.
    • Wear comfortable shoes, we will be standing, walking, and cheering for up to 2 hours.
    • Please plan on bringing your own coffee, snacks, and water or beverages to stay hydrated!
    • HOWEVER, there is limited access to public restrooms during the cheer line. (The Husky Union Building HUB will be open to the public with restrooms and porta-potties will be located in front of Husky Stadium.
    • Husky Stadium is a CLEAR BAG VENUE. You can only bring clear bags inside so plan ahead. Lockers will be available outside through a concessionaire for $10

    How do I cheer?

    • Bring pom-poms, cow bells, tambourines, drums and your enthusiasm.
    • Cheer signs are another fun way to cheer on the athletes! – We will have your schoolmade signs to pass out!!
    • Be festive!! Be happy!! Be the Catholic Schools of Western Washington!!

    How do I find our spot in line?

    • We are at the beginning of Line #2 (North Campus) – Point A to Point B (See Map) We are the beginning of the line, near McMahon Hall!
    • Sections will also be marked off by bright orange tape on the ground.


    How do I get into to the Opening Ceremonies?

    Please redeem your ticket by using the code “CHEER” on the Opening Ceremony ticketing site found here or by visiting www.specialolympicsusagames.org Please follow these instructions if you want to guarantee free entry into the Opening Ceremonies:
    • Click “Buy Tickets”
    • Select your preferred section for seating
    • Select one adult ticket
    • Enter coupon code: CHEER at the bottom of the page where is says “Coupon Code”
    • click “Unlock”
    • At the bottom of the shopping cart there will be a new price option – select one ticket at the Cheer Line “$0.00” price
    • Click “Reserve Tickets”
    • Click proceed to checkout and finish submitting information.
